Long term maintenance of the Vivus Solutions render system is vital if it is the last for generation after generation. For this reason, all Vivus Solutions work is identified using a unique QR coded plaque.
 

The key message to preserve the indefinite lifespan of the system is to ensure that the ColorSec protective coating is maintained regularly. The Vivus system is effectively a limestone covering for your property and hence is naturally denuded by ‘acid rain’. This is the reason for maintaining its integrity using ColorSec. It is this first layer of limestone that is ‘eroded’ naturally and hence it needs ‘topping up’.
 

It is predicted that the coating will require refreshing by the application of two coats of limewash / ColorSec every 10-15 years. This will vary on location and orientation. West facing coastal locations mat require re coating every 5-8 years compared to an east / north facing wall in a sheltered location may only require a refresh every 15-20 years.
 

Where any render has been damaged by collision / abrasion then any render should be replaced and recoated with ColorSec. An accredited installer will be able to undertake any remedial repairs required.
 

It is also important to note that any building that is left in a state of disrepair will suffer from the effects of nature and natural processes. Homes need to be maintained in all aspects but in terms of external render the key areas are:
 

• Keep the rainwater system (gutters and downpipes) cleared and functional so that there is no concentration of water onto a wall.

• Keep silicone seals around doors and windows maintained so that water is not encouraged into the wall

• Keep areas under drip beads clear of debris so that water is not encouraged into the render

 

A 10 year building warranty is offered with the Vivus system.
